“I used to love playing paintball when I was back in high school so it was a blast to illustrate this story for Stone Arch Books. The one restriction I had was that I couldn’t show the paintball gun on the cover of the book--not at all. So, I was left with a back shot of the main character in all of his gear, showing his pouches of paintballs and a wall of paint splattered around him. Even though the paintball gun isn’t present I think the final image still succeeds in showing what the book is all about.”
